On February 1, Powerhouse Moscow will host the night event to showcase some of the most prominent members of the British collective Young Echo - Jabu, Ossia, Manonmars, Vessel. The event is supported by the UK-Russia Year of Music.
Young Echo is an association that supports fairly young producers from Bristol. The main idea of the project is to promote the wide-spectrum approach to sound and space of music, individual to each particular artist, as opposed to collective creativity based on absolute unanimity. Yet the voices and poetry of each of the performers are subordinate to the general Young Echo music taste, leaning towards trip-hop, dub, post-punk and practically immobilized grime, something that comes to mind while referring the classic “Bristol sound”. It is important to note that almost all Young Echo participants collaborate on each other's projects. For example, Kahn and Vessel make up a separate project with the name Baba Yaga, well-known to all Russian-speaking people, and MC Jabu (Alex Randall) appears on the track “Voices On the Water” produced by them.
Artists participating in the first Russian showcase of the Young Echo collective: Sebastian Gainsborough (Vessel, Baba Yaga, Killing Sound), Amos Childs and Alex Randall (Jabu, Killing Sound), Jasmine Butt (Jabu), Daniel Davis (Ossia) and Jack Richardson ( Manonmars).
