SOUND UP launched two major projects: the SOUND UP orchestra, bringing together the best Moscow musicians to perform contemporary music, and the SOUND UP Prime concert series, featuring compositions that have received prestigious music awards. The double premiere took place on December 13 at Zaryadye Concert Hall.

The SOUND UP orchestra was conducted by Robert Ames (UK), well-known for his work with the London Contemporary Orchestra.

The programme included Russian premieres of pieces by UK composers: “There Will Be Blood” by Jonny Greenwood (co-founder and guitarist of Radiohead), a suite based on the music from the film “There will be Blood” which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Soundtrack, and selected pieces from “Under the Skin” sound landscapes by Mica Levi aka Michachu that collected a number of awards at European and American film festivals.
