Within the framework of the Saint Petersburg EARLYMUSIC international festival, we are presenting a concert, which will include the best masterpieces of British and Russian religious music. Works by Hildegard von Bingen, John Taverner and also the XVIIIth century Russian composers will be performed at Saint Virgin of Theodora cathedral.

Music will be performed by ”Chronos” ensemble (Moscow), “Laterna Magica” ensemble of early music (Saint Petersburg) and “Catherine the Great soloists” ensemble (Saint Petersburg). Soloist – Emily van Evera (soprano, USA/UK). Conductor – Andrew Parrot (UK).

EARLYMUSIC International festival is an annual showcase of medieval, Renaissance, baroque and early classical music in its authentic performance. It builds cultural links between Russia and European countries creating a common cultural space. The festival brings back to life the court music of the XVIIIth century, the music of Russian country estates, and connects Russia, Europe, Japan, China, Turkey, Korea, and other countries from all over the world through its musical heritage and traditions. The festival was founded in 1998 and since then has taken place annually in the best concert halls, palaces, and mansions of Saint Petersburg and its suburbs. Selected concerts are toured to Moscow and other Russian cities.
