The Ninth International Young Composers Academy will take place between 30 August and 13 September 2019 in Tchaikovsky-city, Perm region: participants will spend two weeks studying with the Academy professors and guests — leading contemporary composers — through lectures, concerts, talks, workshops and presentations.Moreover, they will have a chance to present their new compositions at the final concert series performed by the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (taking place in Tchaikovsky city on September 12 and in Moscow — on September 14.
The Academy is led by artistic director and composer Dmitri Kourliandski; the professors of the Ninth Academy are the composers Yan Maresz (France), Bryn Harrison (Great Britain), Dmitri Kourliandski (Russia) and Martin Schuetler (Germany). The guests of the Academy are composer Sergej Newski (Russia/Germany); composer, artistic director of the international festival “Shaghai Music Week” Deqing Wen (China/Switzerland); and director of “Donemus” Publishing House Davo van Persen (the Netherlands); and musicologist and professor at Goldsmiths, University of London, Tamsin Alexander.
The jury will select 22 young composers (10 students, 5 trainees and 7 observers) from all over the world.
