Chords & Words seminar will be held in the independent art space Agriculture Club on October 25 as a part of the "Smart Friday" project. This event is part of the UK-Russia Year of Music. Chords & Words is a series of ten one-day festivals. Projects have already taken place in Rostov-on-Don, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk, and now Chords & Words has arrived in Petrozavodsk. The program includes lectures, workshops, performances and a mini book fair.
The organisers of the project, ANO "Literary and Historical Club" with the support of the British Embassy in Moscow, are convinced that such a format will be of interest to a wide range of music and literature lovers.
Participants of the festival – musician Oleg Nesterov, founder of the group "Megapolis", the legendary jazzman Sergei Letov, Alexander Pantykin, who wears a witty and honourable title of the "Grandfather of Ural rock", director Oleg Lipovetsky and playwright Natalia Zaitseva from Petrozavodsk.
– It was quite simple to invite guests to Petrozavodsk, – explains one of the curators of the project, journalist Konstantin Milchin. – All our participants gladly responded to the invitation, the city has a great reputation. The program here is very rich: we have Sergey Letov with his lecture and stunning performance, a master class by Oleg Nesterov, that is more like a session of magic, and a lecture by Alexander Pantykin, in which he talks about the creation of the Ural rock. Finally, it is worth paying attention to the participants from Petrozavodsk: director Oleg Lipovetsky is a well-known person in the city, and Natalia Zaitseva, who studied and worked in Petrozavodsk, then moved to Moscow, where she became famous as a music journalist, and now a playwright.
