UK-Russia Year of Music 2019 goes to the regions. Project Chords & Words will launch on 19 July in Rostov-on-Don on the square in front of the Don State Public Library. As the name suggests, Chords & Words is a series of one-day literary and musical festivals. In the next six months, the project will roam the cities with conservatories, visiting Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Saratov, Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.

Chords & Words combines lectures, presentations, workshops, discussions, mini book fair. Among participants are experts in the field of music and literature, writers, musicians, scientists, and popularisers of science. The list of the guests taking part in Rostov event include winner of the “Enlightener” prize Asya Kazantseva, musician, producer and writer, the leader of the group “Megapolis” Oleg Nesterov, a musician, writer, actor, frontman of the band “Makulatura” Evgeniy Alekhin, musicologist and producer Danil Maslovskiy.
